Sardine Potato Salad

Cut clove of garlic and rub over inside of chopping bowl. Peel onion and chop fine. Add peeled hot potatoes and bread them carefully into pieces, taking care not to mash them or leave any large pieces.

Add French dressing and mix lightly. Chill. When cold, add chopped hard-boiled eggs, sardines broken into pieces and enough mayonnaise to moisten. Mix lightly and serve on lettuce.
